- At Long Furlong we have a wide range of clubs. Most clubs run on Tuesday
afternoons but there is Tag Rugby on Friday afternoons and Club Energy
on Thursday afternoons. One of our most popular clubs is Netball. We
play High Five Netball with five players and in the 2005 / 2006 academic
year we played in a regional competition.

- At the moment we have a bronze eco-schools award. We hope to get the
silver award followed by the gold award. In 2006 we ran a competition
called Waste-free Wednesday. This involved weighing every classes waste
food and packaging from lunch time which was very unpleasant so we
stopped doing it. Signs around the school encourage children to close
the doors and turn off lights. We have a recycling box in every
classroom to stop paper going to landfill.

- We have a healthy schools status. This was gained by running a
competition called Tasty Tuesday. This competition encourages eating
healthy food such as fruit and veg. We also have lots of playground
equipment to encourage exercise.

- We have a link with schools in France and Spain. The Spanish school is
called Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente; which is near Seville. The French
school is called Ecole Elementaire Roger Roudier; which is near
Perigueux. In school we have French lessons at least once a week. Years
4, 5 and 6 all have pen pals in France and Spain.
