Information and Communication Technology Advisory Team

Oxon LEA ICT The ICT Advisory Team is based at the Cricket Road Centre in Oxford. It provides support and advice for all Oxfordshire Schools who are members of the Oxfordshire Quality Schools Association (OQSA). Julie Leigh, Schools Adviser, leads the team of consultants, including Primary, Secondary, Whiteboard and Hands on Support. The team is well supported by three administrative members of staff.

The ICT team, as a traded service, is responsible for providing a wide range of training and consultancy both at the ICT Centre and in schools. OQSA INSET courses are run each term and are designed for teachers and Teaching Assistants from the Foundation Stage through to KS5. They are held at the Cricket Road ICT Centre and are principally concerned with raising standards of teaching and learning through ICT. The ICT training room at Cricket Road is equipped with a RM CC3 network of 19 computers and also has a SmartBoard for demonstration, digital cameras, webcams, scanner, control hardware etc. There is a resource section of CDs and software which teachers can try out.

The team provides ICT support and advice for schools, producing a number of help sheets to support teachers in delivering the curriculum, planning and monitoring ICT. The team produce a weekly ICT newsletter which is sent through the OCN ICT conference to all schools and the newsletter, Ox-on-Line, is published termly.
