Competition Information

What is the web site competition?

It is a friendly competition for students in schools and colleges in Oxfordshire. It is run by the Oxfordshire branch of the British Computer Society and sponsored by local businesses.

We hope that the competition will give you a chance to

  • create or improve a web site about your school,
  • learn some new skills,
  • have some fun taking part,
  • be recognised for your skill and hard work.

You can enter even if your school is not yet connected to the Internet.

We will accept web pages created locally and not part of an internet web site.

You can use your own ideas for the content and subject of the web pages. and you may be able to combine the competition with other projects you are covering as part of the National Curriculum.

Who can enter?

Teams from schools and colleges in Oxfordshire.

This includes all primary and secondary education but not students taking university level courses.

Your team must be sponsored by a member of staff.

We envisage teams of up to about six people. You are free to choose a larger team if you wish. If you win a prize you will have to decide how to share it out amongst the school or the team.

This competition could be ideal for the computer club and/or providing extension work for the Gifted and Talented.
