Suggestion about the location: 1 As mentioned above, I'm often put off attending meetings at the prospect of driving into the City after a long day at work.
1 Car parking can be a problem
1 Central Oxford a pain by car.
1 Central Oxford is very difficult to get to if you don't work in Oxford. I know I'm a difficult case as I spend most of my time either in Warwick or near London, so getting to the centre of Oxford for meetings is VERY difficult. However, I don't like to cr
1 Currently, I am doing a one-year Industrial Placement at Eli Lilly in city of Basingstoke. I will not be able to attend any meeting until next September that I will be back to Oxford.
  1 didn't know about it
1 I do not live near Oxford any more; but may come back near Oxford soon
  1 I live in Switzerland!
1 I live near Reading, and cannot drive into Oxford on a weekday evening due to traffic, parking restrictions and home commitments. I would consider travelling to other venues, and attending on weekends.
1 I often find it awkward to get to Oxford, especially weekday evenings. Having some meetings in S.Oxfordshire/Vale of White Horse would be great.
1 It's 30 miles away, but then if you're going to be Oxford and I'm in Swindon that's fine. Coming from where I do it okay, although parking can be an issue
1 It's a bit too far for the drive, and i don't have too much time as it is unfortunately.
1 Just over the border in South Warwickshire. Also member of Coventry.

1 Oxford venue by public transport is difficult.
1 Parking and traffic are problematic if you have to come any distance to attend a meeting. It's especially bad in the run up to Xmas.
  1 parking is always difficult
1 Parking is an issue; I have to come by car to get there and back between work and bed. I regard this as my problem, not yours.
1 Parking is impossible unless you get there early and often I don't come because I know there will be no parking. It is a long walk from the station and there never seem to be buses that pass the building, so public transport is not an option. The undergr
1 Parking will be a pain this year.
1 Something near a junction of Oxfordshire's trunk roads would be good.
1 Takes too long to get into Oxford and park in the evenings for the meetings, being self-employed and a father of two, I'm already extremely short of time in the evenings.
1 the events I did attend were often in University of Oxford buildings, and not being a regular gaining access and finding the right place was sometimes a achievement
1 ummmmm... where are the meetings, i haven't had a chance to look at the website

1 Yes, the Healthcare Informatics London and South East Specialist Group. Their meetings are slightly relevant but a bit wishy washy with regard to their content, it is pitched at a very basic level in order to allow for those with little in depth knowledge
1 Yes, The Reading spring schools, but that was years ago when I didn't need babysitters. Now I can come again because my children are the babysitters for other people

Other comments: 1 Although I've not attended any meetings, it's only because the topics haven't suited me personally. However, I do still check the annual mailshot! I also think you can't please everyone - I don't have a problem with your meetings' topics, as even though

1 I am atypical of BCS members, although my clients are IT companies I do little technical work now (freelance writer, proposal manager/author).
1 I am looking forward to a return to normality in the New Year. Part of that normality will be attending BCS lectures.

1 I think the committee are doing a pretty good job and I'm glad they're prepared to put the effort in.
1 I will be trying to come to meetings in 2006!
1 If possible, the branch should send out an electronic copy of any hands-out at the meetings to those members who are frequently working on IT projects overseas
1 I'm a fairly new member (joined earlier this year), but intend to get to meetings sometimes. However, the time and location is very inconvenient for me.
1 I'm new to the BCS and the branch. I'm happy with the mix of events and shall be attending a couple in the future.
1 In my view you do a very good job. We face the same problem of how to persuade people to attend meetings.
1 Keep up the good work of representing the industry at a local level.
1 Keep up the good work. If I am working close to home or in the area and the topic is of interest I do attend meetings.
1 Last year I did not attend at all because I've been with maternity leave. However the year before I did like the programme. I do attend whenever I'm particularly interested, but life is busy....

1 Sometimes, despite best intentions, work intrudes and it is just not possible to attend a meeting. No one night is better than any other and (despite my comments) I appreciate you have an impossible job!
1 Thanks and keep up the good work.
1 Thanks for the good work!
1 The BCS gave me this email: xxxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxxxx@bcs.org.uk but it isn't counted as a valid email address!
1 The best event was with Trevor Bayliss - more like that will certainly make us find time to come more often.
1 There is a question about relevance to work above. This is absolutely the last thing that I would want from the branch talks. The ones I attend and enjoyed were intellectually stimulating. Work is for work hours.
1 This form keeps telling me that I've missed a mandatory field!
1 When I can attend talks it is usually to find out what's going on in the wider IT space. That's why I like the wide variety of topics you cover.
1 You're doing a good job, I wish I had more time to attend more of your meetings.
